Guangzhou Opera House Case Study
The Guangzhou opera house takes a twin boulder design that mimic pebbles which have been smoothened by erosion. As such much of the material on the building is granite panels, steel frames and glass. The rough texture of the building on the outside gives the impression of a roughly smoothened pebble, sitting at the banks of a river.
Guangzhou Opera House is a Chinese opera house in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, People's Republic of China. Designed by Zaha Hadid, it opened on 9 May in 2010.
